1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The institution of marriage is one of the
3 cornerstones upon which our society is built, and a marriage
4 that has achieved a notable longevity is truly a model for
5 the people of the State of Illinois; and
6 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Mr. and Mrs.
7 James E. Roney of Pesotum, Illinois, will celebrate the
8 fiftieth anniversary of their marriage; and
9 WHEREAS, James E. Roney and the former Lois Murrah were
10 united in holy matrimony on July 11, 1948, at University
11 Place Christian Church in Champaign, Illinois; and
12 WHEREAS, They are the loving parents of Daniel Roney,
13 Connie Maestas, and John Roney; they have three grandchildren
14 and two great-grandchildren; and
15 WHEREAS, The respect for marriage reaches one of its
16 highest plateaus when a couple such as James and Lois
17 celebrate their golden wedding anniversary; and
18 WHEREAS, James and Lois Roney stand as examples of the
19 best of our society, and their love and devotion to each
20 other and to their family and friends serve as a reminder to
21 all that hard work, dedication, and love can make a
22 difference in today's world; therefore be it
23 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
24 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
25 congratulate James and Lois Roney on the occasion of their
26 fiftieth wedding anniversary; that we commend them for
27 achieving a long and happy marriage, blessed with children
28 and grandchildren and rich in friendships; and that we wish
29 them happiness and good health in the future; and be it
30 further

2 presented to them as an expression of our respect and esteem.
