1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to congratulate the Gurnee Park District
4 on its 30th Anniversary; and
5 WHEREAS, The Gurnee Park District was established in
6 1968; it has made many contributions to the area, helping to
7 improve the emotional, mental, and physical well-being of the
8 citizens of Gurnee and the surrounding communities; and
9 WHEREAS, The Gurnee Park District provides swimming
10 lessons, children's camp activities, adult recreation and
11 leisure activities, as well as taking care of the daily
12 maintenance and operation of the many park facilities; and
13 WHEREAS, Working with the Village Board, the Gurnee Park
14 District continues to work on making the community proud of
15 the many available services and facilities the area parks
16 provide; and
17 WHEREAS, The Gurnee Park District has many goals for the
18 upcoming year, including: expanding leisure programming in
19 under-served areas, continuing the development of the Hunt
20 Club Neighborhood Park, increasing intergovernmental
21 cooperation, increasing volunteerism throughout the Park
22 system, and creating a positive work environment that
23 emphasizes teamwork, communications, employee learning, and
24 customer service; therefore, be it
25 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
26 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
27 congratulate the Gurnee Park District on its 30th
28 Anniversary; with the many goals set before it, the Gurnee
29 Park District will continue providing for the community far
30 into the next century; and be it further
31 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
