1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The institution of marriage is one of the
3 cornerstones upon which our society is built, and a marriage
4 that has achieved a notable longevity is truly a model for
5 the people of the State of Illinois; and
6 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Mr. and Mrs.
7 Robert D. Dooley of Watseka will celebrate the fiftieth
8 anniversary of their marriage; and
9 WHEREAS, Bob and Gwen Dooley were united in holy
10 matrimony on June 19, 1948 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in
11 Kankakee; and
12 WHEREAS, They are the loving parents of Michael,
13 Kathleen, and Mary Louise and the proud grandparents of
14 Robert, Mary Kathleen, Timothy, Justin, and Tyler; and
15 WHEREAS, The respect for marriage reaches one of its
16 highest plateaus when a couple such as Bob and Gwen celebrate
17 their golden wedding anniversary; and
18 WHEREAS, Bob and Gwen Dooley stand as examples of the
19 best of our society, and their love and devotion to each
20 other and to their family and friends serve as a reminder to
21 all that hard work, dedication, and love can make a
22 difference in today's world; therefore be it
23 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
24 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
25 congratulate Bob and Gwen Dooley on the occasion of their
26 fiftieth wedding anniversary; that we commend them for
27 achieving a long and happy marriage, blessed with children
28 and grandchildren and rich in friendships; and that we wish
29 them happiness and good health in the future; and be it
30 further

2 presented to them as an expression of our respect and esteem.
