90_HR0531 LRB9012284KBkb 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 3 Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Glenda 4 Kovarik of Glen Carbon, Illinois; and 5 WHEREAS, Glenda Kovarik was fondly known as "Glenda 6 Carbon" because of her love of and dedication to the city of 7 Glen Carbon; Glenda Kovarik served for twenty-five years as 8 village clerk, from 1968 to 1993; and 9 WHEREAS, Glenda Kovarik was born on February 4, 1936 in 10 Pittsburg, and graduated from Edwardsville High School in 11 1953; she married James W. Kovarik on February 13, 1953; she 12 was a member of the Illinois and International Institute of 13 Municipal Clerks; she was a past board member of the March of 14 Dimes and the Land of Goshen Chamber of Commerce; she was a 15 member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Glen Carbon; and 16 WHEREAS, Glenda Kovarik is survived by her husband, James 17 W. Kovarik, Sr.; her mother, Maxine Bridwell Dawson; her 18 sons, James W. Kovarik, Jr., and his wife, Michelle, and 19 Andrew C. Kovarik and his wife, Kim; her daughter, Jamie 20 Foster and her husband, Shedrick; her brother, Michael Dawson 21 and his wife, Lucille; and eight grandchildren; therefore, be 22 it 23 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 24 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 25 mourn, along with her family and friends, the death of Glenda 26 "Carbon" Kovarik; she will be missed by the Village of Glen 27 Carbon, and we express our sympathy to the Village as well; 28 and be it further 29 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 30 presented to the family of Glenda Kovarik.
