1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that St. Martin de
3 Porres House of Hope in Chicago is celebrating its fifteenth
4 anniversary on May 24, 1998; and
5 WHEREAS, St. Martin de Porres House of Hope has served
6 the needs of families without homes for fifteen years; and
7 WHEREAS, St. Martin de Porres House of Hope has worked
8 tirelessly on behalf of children, understanding that positive
9 influences and love greatly enhance their development; and
10 WHEREAS, St. Martin de Porres House of Hope assists
11 homeless families with a wide variety of services, including
12 affordable housing, financial management, substance abuse
13 treatment, child care services, and parenting skills; and
14 WHEREAS, For fifteen years, St. Martin de Porres, through
15 the heroic efforts of Sister Connie and Sister Therese, has
16 made a positive impact on the lives of thousands of people
17 through its hard work and devotion to helping those in need;
18 therefore be it
19 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
20 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
21 congratulate St. Martin de Porres House of Hope on its
22 fifteenth anniversary and take great pleasure in the hope
23 that it will continue its loving service for many years to
24 come; and be it further
25 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
26 forwarded to St. Martin de Porres House of Hope with our
27 respect and esteem.
