1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of this Body are happy to recognize
3 individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the
4 well-being of the citizens of this State; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Dr. George T.
6 Jorndt has announced his retirement as President of Triton
7 College effective June 30, 1998 after 29 years of dedicated
8 service; and
9 WHEREAS, He received his bachelor's and master's degrees
10 in education from Illinois State University and his Doctor of
11 Philosophy from the University of Utah; and
12 WHEREAS, Since arriving at Triton College in 1969, Dr.
13 Jorndt has served as Department Chairperson, Director of
14 Admissions and Records, Vice President of Instructional
15 Programs, Interim President, and President; and
16 WHEREAS, He has been supported throughout his public and
17 private life by his wife, Mary, and his children, Douglas,
18 Gretchen, and Bryan; therefore, be it
19 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
20 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
21 acknowledge and applaud Dr. George T. Jorndt on his service
22 to Triton College and extend to him our sincere best wishes
23 for the future; and be it further
24 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
25 presented to Dr. George T. Jorndt.
