1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of this Body are saddened to learn
3 of the recent death of Andrew S. Bitta of Hawthorn Woods on
4 March 28, 1998; and
5 WHEREAS, He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on June 23,
6 1929; and
7 WHEREAS, Mr. Bitta had served as a village trustee for
8 eight years and was chairman of the board's environment
9 committee; and
10 WHEREAS, He retired two years ago as Dean of Maine South
11 High School in Park Ridge after working for 27 years for
12 Maine Township High School District 207 and 26 of those years
13 he spent as Dean of Students; and
14 WHEREAS, An active environmentalist, Andrew Bitta was an
15 educator; he taught about the environment and the negative
16 effects of pollution on wetlands and the natural habitats of
17 animals; and
18 WHEREAS, His passing will be deeply felt by his family
19 and friends, especially his wife, Ramona; his sons, Andrew II
20 and Michael; his daughter, Michele Montgomery; his
21 grandchildren, Andrew III and Austin Bitta; and two sisters;
22 therefore, be it
23 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
24 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
25 note with sorrow and regret the death of Andrew S. Bitta and
26 extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends; and
27 be it further
28 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
29 presented to Mrs. Ramona Bitta.
