1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Robert E,
3 Moroney has announced his retirement as Supervisor of
4 Deerfield Township effective April 30, 1998; and
5 WHEREAS, Robert Moroney entered government work in April
6 of 1965, when he was elected Town Clerk; he continued in the
7 post until 1977 when he was elected Township Supervisor; and
8 WHEREAS, Robert Moroney follows a family heritage which
9 began in 1909 with the election of his grandfather, William
10 Moroney, as City Treasurer; his uncle, Edward Moroney, served
11 as City Marshal from 1919 until 1940 and as a City
12 Commissioner from 1943 until 1951; his father, Emmett
13 Moroney, was elected Township Supervisor in 1935 and held the
14 post until his retirement in 1962, he served four terms as
15 chairman of the Lake County Board and was chairman of the
16 Lake County Board of Review; and
17 WHEREAS, Robert Moroney has served his community well for
18 the last thirty-three years; and
19 WHEREAS, He is indeed worthy of our highest praise;
20 therefore, be it
21 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
22 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
23 congratulate Robert E. Moroney as he retires as Supervisor of
24 Deerfield Township and extend to him our best wishes for the
25 future; and be it further
26 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
27 presented to Mr. Robert E. Moroney.
