1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to congratulate "A Touch of Class", the
4 Alton Marquette Pompon Squad, on their recent victories; and
5 WHEREAS, The Illinois Class A competition was recently
6 held at the Assembly Hall on the University of
7 Illinois-Champaign campus; and
8 WHEREAS, Over one hundred teams participated in the
9 event, with two competitions in kick and dance; the Pompon
10 Squad from Alton Marquette walked away with both first place
11 wins; and
12 WHEREAS, The team, led by Coach Debby Altom, is made up
13 of: seniors Captain Leighanne Dettmers, Captain Lori Carroll,
14 and Theresa Lesicko; juniors, Ellen Jourdain, Jamie Peipert,
15 Allison Green, Emily Schmidt, Jill Ashlock, Annie
16 Muehlheausler, and Molly Brown; sophomores Jessica Pennell
17 and Amy Fosha; and freshman Courtney Kuhnline; the team
18 expects to repeat the win again next year; therefore, be it
19 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
20 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
21 congratulate "A Touch of Class" on winning the Class A pompon
22 competition within the State of Illinois; and be it further
23 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
24 presented to "A Touch of Class", along with our sincere
25 regards.
