1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to congratulate William Stewart on being
4 selected Citizen of the Year by the Wilmette, Illinois
5 Chamber of Commerce; and
6 WHEREAS, Bill Stewart is a social studies teacher at New
7 Trier High School, where he has taught for thirty-two years;
8 Mr. Stewart currently teaches American Problems and 3-level
9 United States History at the junior and senior class level;
10 Mr. Stewart also coaches girls track and cross country; and
11 WHEREAS, Bill Stewart and his wife, Sally, have been
12 married for thirty-one years; they have two children, Kristi
13 and Greg; Mr. Stewart was born in Washington D.C.; he
14 graduated from New Trier High School in 1961, received his
15 Bachelor in Arts degree from Wisconsin at Madison in 1965,
16 and his Masters in Education from Wisconsin in 1966; and
17 WHEREAS, Bill Stewart has many hobbies and interests,
18 including cross country skiing, fishing, reading, camping,
19 and story telling; he is actively involved with scouting,
20 where he is chairman of the Cub Scout Division Leader
21 Training Committee; he is a member of the board of Sister
22 Cities International and operates a high school exchange
23 program with New Trier's sister city, Mona Vale, Australia;
24 therefore, be it
25 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
26 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
27 congratulate William Stewart on being selected Citizen of the
28 Year by the Wilmette Chamber of Commerce; and be it further
29 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
30 presented to William Stewart, along with our warmest regards.
