1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to honor George Sullivan on being named
4 the Wilmette, Illinois Chamber of Commerce Senior Citizen of
5 the Year; and
6 WHEREAS, George Sullivan is a familiar part of Wilmette;
7 Mr. Sullivan is retired from Illinois Gear; he has served as
8 a trustee for Wilmette for eight years; after retirement he
9 volunteered to work with the Executive Service Corps, where
10 he helped Goodwill and seventeen other organizations learn
11 skills based on private sector business ideals; and
12 WHEREAS, George Sullivan was elected to the Village Board
13 in 1987, where he served two terms; Mr. Sullivan chairs the
14 Sewer Commission, where he is helping to direct a $35 million
15 improvement plan; he serves with the Board of Catholic
16 Charities and tutors Harper School students in reading and
17 math; and
18 WHEREAS, Mr. Sullivan has also been busy taking classes
19 in woodworking, needlepoint, French and German upholstery,
20 and home repair; he has also taught manufacturing practices
21 at Triton College; therefore, be it
22 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
23 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
24 congratulate George Sullivan on being named Wilmette Chamber
25 of Commerce Senior Citizen of the Year; and be it further
26 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
27 presented to George Sullivan, along with our warmest regards.
