1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the House were saddened to learn
3 of the death of Otto W. White Jr. of Centralia on February 5,
4 1998; and
5 WHEREAS, He was born in Memphis, Tennessee, on November
6 1, 1931, the son of Otto W. and Susan Bell White Sr.; and
7 WHEREAS, He came to Centralia in 1974 to become director
8 of personnel at Rockwell International; he retired in 1997
9 after eight years of service with the Illinois State
10 Department of Welfare; and
11 WHEREAS, Mr. White was a member of the First United
12 Methodist Church; he was a former member of the board of
13 education in Ionia, Michigan, and was currently a member of
14 the Marion County Board; and
15 WHEREAS, His passing will be deeply felt by his family
16 and friends, especially his wife, Mary; his sons, Robert and
17 David; his daughter, Catherine; and his sister, Patricia
18 Chriswell; therefore, be it
19 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
20 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
21 note with sorrow and regret the death of Otto White and
22 extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends; and
23 be it further
24 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
25 presented to his widow, Mary White.
