1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The city of Germantown, Illinois will play host
3 to Spassfest 1997 on August 16 and 17, 1997; and
4 WHEREAS, Spassfest has been held for thirty years and
5 thus will be celebrating its anniversary this year; in the
6 past, Spassfest has raised over $785,000 for community
7 projects including: purchasing land for and building a new
8 park; building playgrounds; and purchasing fire department
9 equipment; and
10 WHEREAS, This year Spassfest will celebrate with over
11 twelve different musical groups performing for the crowds; a
12 casting competition, sponsored by Bassmasters, will be held
13 for the children; the 30th anniversary cookbook "Gutef Essen"
14 will be available; many tasty and tempting food items will be
15 available; there will be the annual quilt auction, as well as
16 the carnival for the children; therefore, be it
17 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
18 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
19 acknowledge Spassfest on its thirtieth anniversary; our hope
20 is that this tradition continues for years to come; and be it
21 further
22 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
23 presented to the coordinators of Spassfest.
