1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of this Body are honored to
3 recognize significant milestones in the lives of the people
4 of this State; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Will Ponikvar
6 recently announced his retirement as Trustee of the Village
7 of Bradley; and
8 WHEREAS, Born and raised in Bradley, Will Ponikvar has
9 served the village in one capacity or another for forty-five
10 years, twenty-nine of them as trustee, and during those years
11 has become an integral part of the community; and
12 WHEREAS, Will Ponikvar and his late wife Verna were the
13 parents of four daughters; he was employed by the New York
14 Central Railroad for 42 1/2 years and supplemented his income
15 by reading the village's water meters; and
16 WHEREAS, Will Ponikvar's warm personality, inspiring
17 leadership, and distinguished service have left an indelible
18 impression on his community; his dedication has richly
19 benefited his fellow citizens; and
20 WHEREAS, Father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and
21 friend, Will Ponikvar leaves a legacy of community service
22 that will long inspire the citizens of this State; therefore,
23 be it
24 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
25 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
26 congratulate Will Ponikvar as he retires as Trustee of the
27 Village of Bradley and applaud his many years of dedicated
28 service; and be it further
29 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
30 presented to him as an expression of our respect and
