1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, This Body is grateful and proud to honor those
3 citizens who unselfishly devote their time and energy to the
4 well-being of their community; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Phil Coronado
6 of Pilsen is being honored for over thirty years of community
7 service; and
8 WHEREAS, In the early 60s, Phil Coronado worked with
9 youth in Pilson; he was affiliated with El Centro de Casa in
10 1971; and
11 WHEREAS, Since 1972, he has served as Chairman of the
12 Senior Softball League at Harrison Park and is presently
13 Chairman of the Pilsen Athletic Conference; and
14 WHEREAS, He has served as President of the Mexican
15 American Basketball Association, which began in 1980, and is
16 an active member of the Harrison Park Community Council; and
17 WHEREAS, Phil Coronado's dedication to numerous community
18 organizations has richly benefited his fellow citizens; his
19 enthusiastic contribution of time and talent will long be
20 remembered; therefore, be it
21 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
22 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
23 join with the Pilsen community in commending and thanking
24 Phil Coronado for over thirty years of community service and
25 extend to him our sincere wish for health and happiness in
26 his future; and be it further
27 RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be presented to
28 Mr. Phil Coronado as an expression of our respect and
29 appreciation.
