1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, It is fitting that the members of this General
3 Assembly recognize those companies and individuals that are a
4 credit to their industry and community; and
5 WHEREAS, Excel Communications, Inc. is an exemplary
6 company, renowned for excellence and quality as a
7 communications provider; and
8 WHEREAS, Kenny A. Troutt is a native son of Mt. Vernon,
9 Illinois, whose entrepreneurial spirit and foresight has
10 provided opportunity for all people in the United States
11 regardless of gender and ethnic background; and
12 WHEREAS, As President and Chief Executive Officer, Mr.
13 Troutt's leadership is responsible for Excel being one of the
14 youngest companies to ever go public on the New York Stock
15 Exchange and reach a billion dollars in annual sales; and
16 WHEREAS, Notably, Mr. Steve Smith, Vice President of
17 Marketing, has greatly contributed to the success of Excel
18 Communications, Inc. through his innovative idea of marketing
19 communications services face to face; and
20 WHEREAS, Inherent in all successful businesses, the
21 employees and independent representatives of Excel
22 Communications, Inc. exemplify a professional spirit and take
23 great pride in their dedication and service to help others;
24 and
25 WHEREAS, It is appropriate for this legislative body to
26 recognize those successful individuals and companies built on
27 professional excellence and teamwork; therefore, be it
28 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
29 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
30 hereby honor Excel Communications, Inc. and its founder, Mr.

1 Kenny A. Troutt, for their remarkable achievements and many
2 outstanding contributions to the communications industry; and
3 be it further
4 RESOLVED, That we extend to Excel Communications, Inc.
5 our best wishes for continued success in all future
6 endeavors; and be it further
7 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8 presented to Mr. Kenny A. Troutt as an expression of our
9 respect and esteem.
