1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of this Body would like to
3 congratulate the Lady Indians of Carlyle and their coaches on
4 their outstanding achievement in winning the Illinois High
5 School Association's Class A State Basketball Championship
6 for the second consecutive year; and
7 WHEREAS, Head Coach Angie Gherardini, with Assistant
8 Coach Ken Smith, continue their inspiring leadership of the
9 team with a third journey to the tournament in as many years;
10 and
11 WHEREAS, The team ended their season with an enviable
12 record of 33-0; and
13 WHEREAS, The members of the team include Courtney Smith,
14 Kristin Hustedde, Jessica Robert, Lindsay Macon, Tara Kell,
15 Michelle Donahoo, Erin Knuf, Leslie Dumstorff, Stacey
16 Pollman, Heather Hitpas, Summar Knuf, and Brie Sheathelm; and
17 WHEREAS, They are enthusiastically supported by Managers
18 Jill Brammeier and Angie Yardley and Statisticians Kristi
19 Nelson, Deanne Perez, Teresa Schroer, and Tamika Williams;
20 and
21 WHEREAS, Superintendent Dr. Ann Duncan, Interim Principal
22 Kevin Meyer, Athletic Director Brad Weathers, the faculty,
23 students, and parents of Carlyle High School, and the entire
24 Carlyle community rejoice in the glow of the magnificent
25 performance of a team that portrays the true spirit and
26 ability of champions; therefore, be it
27 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
28 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
29 congratulate the Lady Indians of Carlyle High School on
30 winning the I.H.S.A. Class A State Basketball Championship
31 and extend our sincere wish for continued success in the

2 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
3 presented to Interim Principal Kevin Meyer on behalf of the
4 Carlyle Lady Indians.
