1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives are
3 saddened to learn of the death of Coach Paul W. Kreke of
4 Salem, Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, Paul Kreke was born on August 11, 1953 to his
6 parents, Paul H. and Ann W. (Jansen) Kreke; and
7 WHEREAS, On June 11, 1977, Paul Kreke married Susan
8 Newton in Chicago, Illinois; together they had three
9 wonderful children, Evan, Kim, and Matthew; and
10 WHEREAS, Paul Kreke was a graduate of Quincy College; he
11 was a member of the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association
12 (I.B.C.A.) and a member of St. Theresa of Avila Church in
13 Salem; and
14 WHEREAS, Besides being a teacher at Salem High School,
15 Paul Kreke will be remembered for being the coach of the
16 Salem High School Wildcats basketball team; in his first year
17 as coach Paul Kreke led the team to a record of 14-11, the
18 team's first winning record in 10 years; Coach Kreke also
19 served as the junior varsity baseball coach for the last two
20 years; and
21 WHEREAS, Paul Kreke is survived by his wife and children;
22 his parents, Paul and Ann; his sisters Brenda, Deborah,
23 Sharon, Susan, Marsha, and Lynn; and his brothers-in-law
24 Jerry Linthicum, Claus Schroeder, Rick Casson, Dave
25 Quitmeyer, and Mike Fuhler; therefore, be it
26 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
27 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
28 mourn, along with his family and friends, the death of Coach
29 Paul Kreke of Salem, Illinois; and be it further
30 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
