1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The insitution of marriage serves as the
3 foundation upon which society rests; and
4 WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives are
5 happy to hear of the 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs.
6 Chester M. Harris of Oblong, Illinois; and
7 WHEREAS, Chester M. Harris was born on May 19, 1919; he
8 served in World War II, and received the Purple Heart and
9 Bronze Star, in addition to several other medals; and
10 WHEREAS, Augusta M. Harris was born on May 30, 1921; on
11 May 5, 1947, she married Chester M. Harris; and
12 WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Harris are the proud parents of
13 Randy, Brad, and Nancy; therefore, be it
14 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
15 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
16 celebrate the 50th wedding anniversary of Chester M. and
17 Augusta M. Harris of Oblong, Illinois; and be it further
18 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19 presented to Chester M. and Augusta M. Harris.
