1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives have
3 received word of the recent retirement of Carl Hartmann as
4 director of the Vernon Hills Park District; and
5 WHEREAS, Carl Hartmann served the park district for over
6 nineteen years as the Director; Carl began by adding programs
7 to the park district schedule and helped to develop park
8 areas as the population of the area continued to grow; and
9 WHEREAS, Carl Hartmann has been a part of the park
10 district since 1978, having seen it grow to more than 320
11 acres of land, with 3 park facilities and 12 park areas; and
12 WHEREAS, Carl Hartmann has watched the park district
13 schedule expand to 250 different programs per season, up from
14 12 when Mr. Hartmann first took the position of director; and
15 WHEREAS, Mr. Hartmann has seen many changes in the park
16 district, including the development of basketball and tennis
17 courts, playgrounds and baseball diamonds, a sledding hill, a
18 swimming pool, picnic areas and family areas, and the
19 Sullivan Community Center and Aquatics Complex; and
20 WHEREAS, Mr. Hartmann was responsible for securing
21 federal and State grants that aided in the continued
22 development of park acreage; therefore, be it
23 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
24 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
25 honor the career of Carl Hartmann, and we acknowledge the
26 changes he made to the Vernon Hills Park District, and
27 congratulate him upon his retirement; and be it further
28 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
29 presented to Carl Hartmann.
