90_HR0007 LRB9000502CBcb 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The House has learned with sorrow of the death 3 of Nelson Hagnauer, Sr., the Chairman of the Madison County 4 Board and the Supervisor of Granite City Township; and 5 WHEREAS, Mr. Hagnauer was born in Granite City on 6 December 30, 1927, to Robert Henry and Cecilia Agnes 7 Hagnauer; and 8 WHEREAS, He married the former Bernadine Simmons; and 9 WHEREAS, Mr. Hagnauer had served on the Madison County 10 Board since 1955 and was elected chairman in 1972; he was a 11 member of the Township Officials of Illinois, the National 12 Association of County Officials, the American Legion, and the 13 Amvets, and he was a lifetime member of the Veterans of 14 Foreign Wars and chairman and Member of the Year of the 15 East-West Gateway Council; and 16 WHEREAS, Nelson Hagnauer was elected to the Illinois 17 Softball Hall of Fame in 1980 and was a delegate to the 18 National Democratic Conventions in Chicago and New York; and 19 WHEREAS, Nelson Hagnauer, Sr. leaves to cherish his 20 memory: his wife, Bernadine; his son and daughter-in-law, 21 Nelson, Jr. and Mary Beth Hagnauer; his daughter and 22 son-in-law, Carol Sue and Ron Nowell; his brother and 23 sister-in-law, Charles and Janet Hagnauer; a sister and 24 brother-in-law, Ruth and Peter Krieshok; and two 25 granddaughters, Jayme Nowell and Molly Hagnauer; and 26 WHEREAS, Nelson "Nellie" Hagnauer, Sr. contributed 27 greatly to his community and State and will be sadly missed 28 by all who knew him; therefore, be it 29 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 30 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we -2- LRB9000502CBcb 1 express our deep sorrow at the death of Nelson Hagnauer, Sr; 2 offer our heartfelt sympathy to his wife and family; and join 3 his friends in cherishing his memory; and be it further 4 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 5 presented to the family of Nelson Hagnauer, Sr.
