The Adoption Act is amended by changing 5 Section 4 as follows: 6 (750 ILCS 50/4) (from Ch. 40, par. 1505) 7 Sec. 4. Jurisdiction and venue. 8 An adoption proceeding may be commenced in the circuit 9 court of the county in which petitioners reside, or the 10 county in which the person to be adopted resides, or was 11 born, or the county in which the parents of thesuchperson 12 reside, provided, however, if an agency has acquired the 13 custody and control of a child and thesuchagency is 14 authorized to consent to the adoption of thesuchchild, the 15 proceeding may be commenced in any county, and provided 16 further that if a guardian of the person of thesuchchild 17 has been appointed by a court of competent jurisdiction, the 18 proceeding may be commenced in any county. 19 (Source: Laws 1965, p. 3308.)
