The Juvenile Court Act of 1987 is amended by 6 changing Section 1-12 as follows: 7 (705 ILCS 405/1-12) (from Ch. 37, par. 801-12) 8 Sec. 1-12. Neither the State, any unit of local 9 government, probation department, public or community service 10 program or site, nor any official or employee thereof acting 11 in the course of their official duties shall be liable for 12 any injury or loss a person might receive while performing 13 public or community service as ordered by the court or by a 14 youth officer or his or her designee, including a teen court 15 or peer jury, nor shall they be liable for any tortious acts 16 of any person performing public or community service, except 17 for wilful, wanton misconduct or gross negligence on the part 18 of such governmental unit, official or employee. 19 (Source: P.A. 85-1209.)
