1 AN ACT to amend the Public Utilities Act by changing
2 Section 8-302.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Public Utilities Act is amended by
6 changing Section 8-302 as follows:
7 (220 ILCS 5/8-302) (from Ch. 111 2/3, par. 8-302)
8 Sec. 8-302. The Commerce Commission shall require that
9 every public utility furnishing natural or artificial gas,
10 electricity or water to the public, where the individual
11 consumption is measured by meter, shall, upon written request
12 of any consumer, cause the meter reader at the time of
13 reading such consumer's meter to leave at such meter a card
14 showing the present reading of the meter, the last previous
15 reading, and the dates of such two readings.
