1 AN ACT to amend the Unified Code of Corrections by
2 changing Section 3-13-2.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Unified Code of Corrections is amended by
6 changing Section 3-13-2 as follows:
7 (730 ILCS 5/3-13-2) (from Ch. 38, par. 1003-13-2)
8 Sec. 3-13-2. Purposes.
9 The Department may allow a committed person to leave an
10 institution or facility during reasonable hours where the
11 such release would assist the individual's rehabilitation and
12 would not cause undue risk to the public for any of the
13 following purposes:
14 (1) work; or
15 (2) conduct a business or other self-employed occupation
16 including housekeeping or attending to family needs; or
17 (3) attend an educational institution, including
18 vocational education; or
19 (4) obtain medical or psychological treatment, including
20 treatment for drug addiction or alcoholism; or
21 (5) other purposes directly related to programs of the
22 Department.
