Amends the AIDS Confidentiality Act. Requires a health
care provider, employee of a health care facility,
firefighter, or EMT on whose behalf an AIDS test is performed
to pay for the test.

1 AN ACT to amend the AIDS Confidentiality Act by adding
2 Section 7.5.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The AIDS Confidentiality Act is amended by
6 adding Section 7.5 as follows:
7 (410 ILCS 305/7.5 new)
8 Sec. 7.5. Payment for tests. If a health care provider,
9 an employee of a health care facility, a firefighter, an EMT,
10 or a patient is tested under the provisions of Section 7 of
11 this Act, the health care provider, employee of a health care
12 facility, firefighter, or EMT on whose behalf the test was
13 performed shall, individually or through insurance, pay the
14 costs of the test.
