LRB9009437KDks HB2910 Engrossed LRB9009437KDks 1 AN ACT to amend the Counties Code by adding Section 2 5-1055.5. 3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 4 represented in the General Assembly: 5 Section 5. The Counties Code is amended by adding 6 Section 5-1055.5 as follows: 7 (55 ILCS 5/5-1055.5 new) 8 Sec. 5-1055.5. Sharing use and occupation tax receipts. 9 A county with a population between 180,000 and 200,000 may, 10 but shall not be required to, enter into an intergovernmental 11 agreement and by that agreement transfer to a home rule 12 municipality that is located within the county a share of use 13 and occupation tax receipts generated by the county. A 14 county with a population between 180,000 and 200,000 may, but 15 shall not be required to, enter into an intergovernmental 16 agreement and by that agreement receive from a home rule 17 municipality located in that county a share of use and 18 occupation tax receipts generated by the home rule 19 municipality. 20 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 21 becoming law.
