New Act
Creates the Medical Records Copying Cost Act. Creates a
short title and a Medical Records Copying Cost Committee to
study the cost of making copies of medical records which
shall be composed of representatives from the medical records
copy industry, business people, health care providers,
attorneys, and consumers. Effective immediately.

1 AN ACT regarding the cost of copying medical records.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the
5 Medical Records Copying Cost Act.
6 Section 5. Committee to study the cost of copying
7 medical records. There is created the Medical Records
8 Copying Cost Committee to study the cost of making copies of
9 medical records. The Committee shall be composed of
10 representatives from each of the following areas: the medical
11 records copy industry, business, health care providers,
12 attorneys, and consumers.
13 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
14 becoming law.
