The Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business 6 Practices Act is amended by changing Section 2 as follows: 7 (815 ILCS 505/2) (from Ch. 121 1/2, par. 262) 8 Sec. 2. Unfair or deceptive acts or practices. Unfair 9 methods of competition and unfair or deceptive acts or 10 practices, including but not limited to the use or employment 11 of any deception fraud, false pretense, false promise, 12 misrepresentation or the concealment, suppression or omission 13 of any material fact, with intent that others rely upon the 14 concealment, suppression or omission of such material fact, 15 or the use or employment of any practice described in Section 16 2 of the "Uniform Deceptive Trade Practices Act", approved 17 August 5, 1965, in the conduct of any trade or commerce are 18 hereby declared unlawful whether any person has in fact been 19 misled, deceived or damaged thereby. In construing this 20 section consideration shall be given to the interpretations 21 of the Federal Trade Commission and the federal courts 22 relating to Section 5 (a) of the Federal Trade Commission 23 Act. 24 (Source: P.A. 78-904.)
