1 AN ACT to amend the Coal Mining Act by changing Section
2 25.04.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Coal Mining Act is amended by changing
6 Section 25.04 as follows:
7 (225 ILCS 705/25.04) (from Ch. 96 1/2, par. 2504)
8 Sec. 25.04. Custody of safety lamps. All safety lamps
9 shall be the property of the operator and when not in use
10 shall remain in the custody of the mine manager or other
11 competent person designated by him, who shall clean, fill,
12 trim, examine and deliver same, locked and in safe condition
13 to the men when they enter the mine, or at some underground
14 station designated by the mine manager for that purpose. He
15 shall also receive the lamps from the men when they leave the
16 mine or as they pass the underground lamp station at the end
17 of their shift.
