LRB9004914RCks LRB9004914RCks 1 AN ACT to amend the Unified Code of Corrections by 2 changing Section 5-2-5. 3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 4 represented in the General Assembly: 5 Section 5. The Unified Code of Corrections is amended by 6 changing Section 5-2-5 as follows: 7 (730 ILCS 5/5-2-5) (from Ch. 38, par. 1005-2-5) 8 Sec. 5-2-5. Clinical psychologist as expert witness. In 9 any issue of determination of fitness of a defendant to 10 plead, to stand trial, to be sentenced or to be executed, or 11 in any issue related to insanity or to mental illness, a 12 clinical psychologist as defined in paragraph (a) of Section 13 102-21 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of 1963 shall be 14 deemed qualified to testify as an expert witness in the form 15 of his opinion about the issue of fitness or insanity or 16 mental illness and shall not be restricted to testifying with 17 regard to test results only. 18 (Source: P.A. 82-553.)
