Amend House Bill 2123 by replacing 3 the title with the following: 4 "AN ACT to amend the Unified Code of Corrections by 5 adding Section 3-14-1.5."; and 6 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the 7 following: 8 "Section 5. The Unified Code of Corrections is amended 9 by adding Section 3-14-1.5 as follows: 10 (730 ILCS 5/3-14-1.5 new) 11 Sec. 3-14-1.5. Releasees from counties over 3,000,000 12 inhabitants. 13 (a) All persons released from the custody of the 14 Illinois Department of Corrections who are to reside in a 15 county of more than 3,000,000 residents shall present 16 themselves to the Sheriff's Office of that county for 17 processing by the Sheriff's Criminal Apprehension and Booking 18 System (CABS), including one finger immediate identification 19 and digital mugshot processing, within 5 days of release or 20 within 120 hours of release from the custody of the 21 Department. -2- LRB9004869RCpcam 1 (b) The Department shall inform each releasee of his or 2 her responsibility to submit to processing by the Sheriff's 3 Criminal Apprehension and Booking System and the locations 4 where it can be completed in accordance with the rules of the 5 Sheriff's Office. 6 (c) Failure of a releasee to comply with the provisions 7 of this Section is a Class 4 felony. 8 (d) The Cook County Sheriff shall develop rules to 9 implement this Section. 10 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect June 11 1, 1998.".
