LRB9001592JSgc LRB9001592JSgc 1 AN ACT to amend the Public Utilities Act by changing 2 Section 4-101. 3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 4 represented in the General Assembly: 5 Section 5. The Public Utilities Act is amended by 6 changing Section 4-101 as follows: 7 (220 ILCS 5/4-101) (from Ch. 111 2/3, par. 4-101) 8 Sec. 4-101. Supervision of public utilities. The 9 Commission shall have general supervision of all public 10 utilities, except as otherwise provided in this Act, shall 11 inquire into the management of the business thereof and shall 12 keep itself informed as to the manner and method in which the 13 business is conducted. It shall examine those public 14 utilities and keep informed as to their general condition, 15 their franchises, capitalization, rates and other charges, 16 and the manner in which their plants, equipment and other 17 property owned, leased, controlled or operated are managed, 18 conducted and operated, not only with respect to the 19 adequacy, security and accommodation afforded by their 20 service but also with respect to their compliance with this 21 Act and any other law, with the orders of the Commission and 22 with the charter and franchise requirements. 23 Whenever the Commission is authorized or required by law 24 to consider some aspect of criminal history record 25 information for the purpose of carrying out its statutory 26 powers and responsibilities, then, upon request and payment 27 of fees in conformance with the requirements of subsection 22 28 of Section 55a of "The Civil Administrative Code of 29 Illinois", the Department of State Police is authorized to 30 furnish, pursuant to positive identification, such 31 information contained in State files as is necessary to -2- LRB9001592JSgc 1 fulfill the request. 2 (Source: P.A. 86-610.)
