1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1730
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 1730 by replacing
3 the title with the following:
4 "AN ACT to amend the School Code by adding Section
5 10-22.18e."; and
6 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the
7 following:
8 "Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section
9 10-22.18e as follows:
10 (105 ILCS 5/10-22.18e new)
11 Sec. 10-22.18e. Evening school programs. The school
12 board, board of education, or other governing body of a
13 school district, all or part of which is located in a county
14 that has a population in excess of 2,000,000, is authorized
15 to develop, maintain, and operate evening programs for
16 students in school facilities and on school premises.
17 Those evening school programs may include educational
18 enrichment programs, recreational and physical exercise
19 programs, and tutorial or peer assistance programs under
20 which students are assisted with their homework and course
21 studies.

1 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
2 becoming law.".
