Amends the Illinois Act on the Aging. Requires the
Department on Aging to establish a commission to review rural
area senior citizen health care program funding. Requires
the commission to evaluate funding formulas in order to
properly and fairly distribute funds throughout the State.

1 AN ACT to amend the Illinois Act on the Aging by adding
2 Section 8.07.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Illinois Act on the Aging is amended by
6 adding Section 8.07 as follows:
7 (20 ILCS 105/8.07 new)
8 Sec. 8.07. Rural area senior citizen health care program
9 funding commission.
10 (a) The Department shall establish a commission to
11 review rural area senior citizen health care program funding.
12 The Commission shall evaluate funding formulas for all senior
13 citizen health care programs based upon actual need rather
14 than on population in order to properly and fairly distribute
15 funds throughout the State.
16 (b) The commission shall be established and its members
17 designated no later then January 1, 1999.
