Provides that it is a Class A misdemeanor for an applicant for employment with a public or private agency that provides State funded services to persons with mental illness or developmental disabilities to furnish false information on an application for employment with the agency if the position requires contact with persons with mental illness or developmental disabilities. Penalty is a Class A misdemeanor. The Criminal Code of 1961 is amended by 6 adding Section 17-22 as follows: 7 (720 ILCS 5/17-22 new) 8 Sec. 17-22. False information on an application for 9 employment with certain public or private agencies. 10 (a) It is unlawful for an applicant for employment with 11 a public or private agency that provides State funded 12 services to persons with mental illness or developmental 13 disabilities to wilfully furnish false information regarding 14 professional certification, licensing, criminal background, 15 or employment history for the 5 years immediately preceding 16 the date of application on an application for employment with 17 the agency if the position of employment requires or provides 18 opportunity for contact with persons with mental illness or 19 developmental disabilities. 20 (b) Sentence. A violation of this Section is a Class A 21 misdemeanor.
