The Hearing Instrument Consumer Protection 6 Act is amended by changing Section 7 as follows: 7 (225 ILCS 50/7) (from Ch. 111, par. 7407) 8 Sec. 7. Exemptions. 9 (a) The following persons are exempt from this Act: 10 (1) Licensed physicians. This exemption, however, 11 does not apply to a physician's employee or subcontractor 12 who is not a physician. 13 (2) Persons who only repair or manufacture hearing 14 instruments and their accessories for wholesale. 15 (b) Audiometers used by persons exempt from this Act to 16 dispense hearing instruments must meet the annual calibration 17 requirements and current standards set by the American 18 National Standards Institute. 19 (Source: P.A. 89-72, eff. 12-31-95.)
