1 AN ACT to amend the Adoption Act by changing Section 16.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Adoption Act is amended by changing
5 Section 16 as follows:
6 (750 ILCS 50/16) (from Ch. 40, par. 1520)
7 Sec. 16. Entry of Judgment.) If, after examination of
8 the report required by Section 6, the court finds a waiver to
9 be for the welfare of the child, the court may, in its
10 discretion, waive the waiting period of 6 months provided
11 under in Section 14 and enter a judgment of adoption.
