1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1342
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 1342 by replacing
3 the title with the following:
4 "AN ACT to amend the Department of Public Health Act by
5 adding Section 8.3."; and
6 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the
7 following:
8 "Section 5. The Department of Public Health Act is
9 amended by adding Section 8.3 as follows:
10 (20 ILCS 2305/8.3 new)
11 Sec. 8.3. Telemedicine study. The Department of Public
12 Health shall study the feasibility of using telemedicine
13 technology for individuals living in rural areas and
14 homebound individuals. The Department shall issue an interim
15 report to the General Assembly by January 1, 1998 and a final
16 report by July 1, 1998.
17 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July
18 1, 1997.".
