Provides that a violation is punishable by a fine not to exceed $100 (instead of $50). The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by 6 changing Section 12-611 as follows: 7 (625 ILCS 5/12-611) (from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 12-611) 8 Sec. 12-611. No driver of any motor vehicle within this 9 State shall operate or permit operation of any sound 10 amplification system which can be heard outside the vehicle 11 from 5075or more feet when the vehicle is being operated 12 upon a highway, unless such system is being operated to 13 request assistance or warn of a hazardous situation. 14 This Section does not apply to authorized emergency 15 vehicles or vehicles engaged in advertising. 16 Any violation of the provisions of this Section shall be 17 a petty offense punishable by a fine not to exceed $100$50. 18 (Source: P.A. 86-1240.)
