1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1048
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 1048 on page 1, by
3 replacing lines 18 through 25 with the following:
4 "roadways; provided that if the owners of 51% or more in
5 number of the lots, tracts, and parcels of real estate that
6 are to be subject to the tax file a petition with the clerk
7 of the municipality agreeing with the establishment of a
8 special service area, then the corporate authorities of the
9 municipality shall proceed with the establishment of a
10 special service area. If a petition is not filed or contains
11 an insufficient number of signatures, the corporate
12 authorities of the municipality shall proceed no further and
13 the same establishment of a special service area shall not
14 again be initiated for a period of one year.".
