1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1004
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 1004 by replacing
3 the title with the following:
4 "AN ACT to amend the Metropolitan Water Reclamation
5 District Act by adding Section 65.1."; and
6 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the
7 following:
8 "Section 5. The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District
9 Act is amended by adding Section 65.1 as follows:
10 (70 ILCS 2605/65.1 new)
11 Sec. 65.1. Reservoir intake guidelines. No reservoir
12 may be constructed or operated except in the area described
13 as follows:
14 That part of Sections 14, 15, and 22, all in Lyons
15 Township, Range 12 East of the Third Principal Meridian
16 in Cook County, Illinois, which lie between the Des
17 Plaines River to the north and the Sanitary and Ship
18 Canal on the south, and is bordered on the east by the
19 Indiana Harbor Belt Railroad, and on the west by a line
20 which is parallel to and 7,500 feet to the southwest of
21 said railroad, said 7,500 feet measured parallel to the

1 Sanitary and Ship Canal; said westerly boundary being
2 approximately 7,000 feet northeasterly of the centerline
3 of La Grange Road, at the approximate midpoint between
4 the Des Plaines River and Sanitary and Ship Canal, said
5 7,000 feet measured parallel to the Sanitary and Ship
6 Canal.
7 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
8 becoming law.".
