1 AN ACT to amend the Prevailing Wage Act by changing
2 Section 1.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Prevailing Wage Act is amended by
6 changing Section 1 as follows:
7 (820 ILCS 130/1) (from Ch. 48, par. 39s-1)
8 Sec. 1. State policy. It is the policy of the State of
9 Illinois that a wage of no less than the general prevailing
10 hourly rate as paid for work of a similar character in the
11 locality in which the work is performed, shall be paid to all
12 laborers, workers, and mechanics employed by or on behalf of
13 any and all public bodies engaged in public works.
