The Medical Patient Rights Act is amended by 6 adding Section 6 as follows: 7 (410 ILCS 50/6 new) 8 Sec. 6. Identification badges. A health care facility 9 licensed in this State shall require a person, including a 10 student, who observes, examines, or treats a patient or 11 resident of the facility to wear an identification badge that 12 readily discloses the first name, licensure status, if any, 13 and staff position of the person observing, examining, or 14 treating the patient or resident. A facility that violates 15 this requirement is guilty of a petty offense and shall be 16 fined $500.
