The Election Code is amended by changing 5 Section 6-61 as follows: 6 (10 ILCS 5/6-61) (from Ch. 46, par. 6-61) 7 Sec. 6-61. It shall be the duty of the clerk of any court 8 where parties are tried or convicted of penitentiary offenses 9 in the county where such city, village or incorporated town 10 is located, to furnish monthly to such board of commissioners 11 the names of all parties convicted or sentenced for any 12 crime, the punishment of which is confinement in the 13 penitentiary, and their place of residence if such fact be in 14 the possession of such clerk.It shall be the duty of the15Governor of the state, or court, as the case may be, on or16before the first day of October in each year, to furnish to17such commissioners of election the names of all persons18released from the penitentiary or discharged from probation19for any crime of which such person was convicted in a court20in a county where said city, village or incorporated town is21located and to whom a certificate has been issued restoring22his rights of citizenship.-2- LRB9002999MWpcam 1 (Source: Laws 1943, vol. 2, p. 1.)".
