1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 528
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 528 by replacing
3 the title with the following:
4 "AN ACT to amend the Mosquito Abatement District Act by
5 changing Section 3."; and
6 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the
7 following:
8 "Section 5. The Mosquito Abatement District Act is
9 amended by changing Section 3 as follows:
10 (70 ILCS 1005/3) (from Ch. 111 1/2, par. 76)
11 Sec. 3. The determination of the court as to the
12 necessity for the organization of the proposed mosquito
13 abatement district, together with the description of the
14 boundaries of the such district as fixed by such court, shall
15 be entered of record in of the court. Thereupon the court
16 shall certify the question of the organization of the
17 territory included within the boundaries fixed by it as a
18 mosquito abatement district to the proper election officials
19 who shall submit the question to the legal voters resident
20 within such territory at an election to be held in the
21 district. Notice of such referendum shall be given and the

1 referendum conducted in the manner provided by the general
2 election law. The notice of such election shall state the
3 purpose of the referendum, describe the territory proposed to
4 be organized as a mosquito abatement district, and state the
5 time of such election.
6 The proposition shall be in substantially the following
7 form:

11 Mosquito Abatement District? NO
12 -------------------------------------------------------------
13 The court shall cause a statement of the result to be
14 entered of record in the court.
