1 AN ACT to amend the Public Utilities Act by changing
2 Section 8-201.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Public Utilities Act is amended by
6 changing Section 8-201 as follows:
7 (220 ILCS 5/8-201) (from Ch. 111 2/3, par. 8-201)
8 Sec. 8-201. Denial of essential service; duty of good
9 faith. It is the policy of this State that no person should
10 be denied essential utility service during the winter months
11 due to financial inability to pay. It is also the policy of
12 this State that public utilities and residential heating
13 customers deal with each other in good faith and fair manner.
