Updating the database of the Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS) is an ongoing process. Recent laws may not yet be included in the ILCS database, but they are found on this site as Public Acts soon after they become law. For information concerning the relationship between statutes and Public Acts, refer to the Guide.

Because the statute database is maintained primarily for legislative drafting purposes, statutory changes are sometimes included in the statute database before they take effect. If the source note at the end of a Section of the statutes includes a Public Act that has not yet taken effect, the version of the law that is currently in effect may have already been removed from the database and you should refer to that Public Act to see the changes made to the current law.

    Sec. 11-1301.8. Obstruction of parking places for persons with disabilities.

(a) No property owner shall allow any unreasonable obstruction of a designated aisle or parking place specifically reserved for persons with
disabilities after 24 hours following the conclusion of an adverse weather event.

(b) No property owner shall allow the accumulation of debris or large objects, such as trash containers, to unreasonably obstruct any designated aisle or parking place specifically reserved for persons with
disabilities without providing suitable and equivalent  alternative parking spaces on-site.

(c) This Section shall apply to both public and private property where any designated aisle or parking place is specifically reserved for persons with
disabilities, by the posting of an official sign as designated under Section
11-301 of this Code.

(d) A person who violates this Section shall be guilty of a petty offense and pay a fine of not more than $250.
