Information maintained by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Updating the database of the Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS) is an ongoing process. Recent laws may not yet be included in the ILCS database, but they are found on this site as Public Acts soon after they become law. For information concerning the relationship between statutes and Public Acts, refer to the Guide.

Because the statute database is maintained primarily for legislative drafting purposes, statutory changes are sometimes included in the statute database before they take effect. If the source note at the end of a Section of the statutes includes a Public Act that has not yet taken effect, the version of the law that is currently in effect may have already been removed from the database and you should refer to that Public Act to see the changes made to the current law.

70 ILCS 3605/22

    (70 ILCS 3605/22) (from Ch. 111 2/3, par. 322)
Sec. 22. As soon as possible after the appointment of the initial members, the board shall organize for the transaction of business, select a chairman and a temporary secretary from its own number, and adopt by-laws, rules and regulations to govern its proceedings. The initial chairman and successors shall be elected by the Board from time to time for the term of his office as a member of the Board or for the term of three years, whichever is shorter. The Board shall fix the salary of the chairman in addition to his salary as a member of the Board, which shall not be increased or diminished during his term of office as chairman. But if the chairman is engaged in any other business or employment during his term as chairman, his annual salary shall be not more than $25,000.
