Information maintained by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Updating the database of the Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS) is an ongoing process. Recent laws may not yet be included in the ILCS database, but they are found on this site as Public Acts soon after they become law. For information concerning the relationship between statutes and Public Acts, refer to the Guide.

Because the statute database is maintained primarily for legislative drafting purposes, statutory changes are sometimes included in the statute database before they take effect. If the source note at the end of a Section of the statutes includes a Public Act that has not yet taken effect, the version of the law that is currently in effect may have already been removed from the database and you should refer to that Public Act to see the changes made to the current law.

70 ILCS 2005/7

    (70 ILCS 2005/7) (from Ch. 85, par. 6857)
Sec. 7. The trustees appointed in accordance with this Act shall constitute a board of trustees for the emergency services district for which they are appointed, and that board of trustees is declared to be the corporate authority of the district and shall exercise all of the powers and control all of the affairs and property of the district. The board of trustees may provide and adopt a corporate seal. Immediately after their appointment and at their first meeting in December of each year thereafter, the board of trustees shall elect one of their number as president, one as secretary, and one as treasurer, and shall elect such other officers as may be necessary. The board of trustees shall provide for the time and place of holding regular meetings and may establish rules for board proceedings. Special meetings may be called by the president of the board or by any 3 trustees, but each member of the board shall be given notice of a special meeting at least 24 hours before the meeting. All of the meetings of the board, whether regular or special, shall be open to the public. A majority of the board of trustees shall constitute a quorum, but a smaller number may adjourn from day to day. The board shall keep a regular book of records of all of the proceedings of the board, which book shall be open to the inspection of any person residing in the district at all reasonable and proper times.
